■ About the Brand “Kiraku Tei”
“Kiraku Tei” derives its name from the word “tei,” meaning a private residence.
The brand offers story-driven stays that feel as though guests are being welcomed into the owner's home.

Each Kiraku Tei property is built around a fictional host character. Through this character’s perspective, the local culture and history are reinterpreted with a unique sensibility. Rather than simply staying the night, guests step into a carefully crafted narrative and experience it as part of their own daily life, enjoying a refined stay deeply connected to the place.

■ About “Kiraku Tei Kiyomizu”
Kiraku Tei Kiyomizu is a private, whole-house accommodation quietly located along Ishibe-koji in Kyoto’s Higashiyama district.
This historic stone-paved lane, lined with traditional townhouses, preserves the timeless atmosphere of Kyoto. At the same time, it offers easy walking access to Kodaiji Temple, Kiyomizu-dera, and the Gion area, making it both peaceful and highly convenient.

The traditional two-story wooden house is designed to balance comfort and authenticity.
On the first floor, guests will find a fully equipped kitchen and counter suitable for hosting a private chef, along with a living space and tatami room overlooking the garden. Upstairs, a spacious bedroom and a large hinoki cypress bath invite guests to unwind slowly, allowing the fatigue of travel to fade away in a calm, intimate setting.

In its architecture and design, Kiraku Tei Kiyomizu embraces the sense of depth and enclosure unique to Ishibe-koji. The approach from the narrow alley into the interior is treated as part of the experience itself, creating a seamless transition from the surrounding streetscape into a quiet, private world.
